One my favorite THIS! moments in comics happened during Birds of Prey # 112 written by Tony Bedard with art by David Cole. In this issue, Zinda Blake/Lady Blackhawk goes on what she called “A Warrior’s Wake” by visiting as many bars as she can on her way to Edwards Air Force Base to give Big Barda a proper tribute. She kicks ass in the issue and tells the bartender at the bar of Edwards Air Force Base to place this picture next to her old comrades, the Blackhawks. It was a very touching issue about two amazing comic book characters that I sorely miss and their beautiful friendship.
